  4. My deepest condolences to Victor’s family. May his soul rest in eternal peace 🕊️

  5. As children, Víctor was the younger brother I never had. He was so easily pleased, with emotion always bubbling just below the surface. He was fiercely protective of his sisters. He could run faster, jump higher and (sometimes) reach further than the four of us girls – always the athlete, always competitive, always considerate. Decades on from our walks up and down that tree-filled Kileleshwa, these are the memories I cherish.

  6. Offering my sincere condolences to Victor’s family. A gentle soul gone too soon. May his soul rest in eternal peace 🕊️

  7. Victor was an amazing human being, his ability to connect with everyone made him easy to love. We have lost a kind, caring ,loving and cheerful soul. May his soul rest in peace🕊️

  8. I remember Victor as my almost-little bro who spent an inordinate amount of time upside down. He was the king of cart wheels and hand stands. His arm strength was incredible even back then. Him going into sport science and fitness was a natural trajectory. When he wasn’t engaging in impossible fitness exploits, he was drawing – his intricate pencil art was a marvel. He was a truly multi-talented person who was never boastful of his talents. I’m so glad he lived his life doing so much of what he loved and what he was good at, all the while being kind, considerate and gentle. Rest well bro.

  9. If you ever visited the estate where Victor grew up, you will note that it is on a slope. It is on that slope all my memories of Victor are. He was so energetic, playful with a touch of cheekiness and despite all that bubbling energy, Victor had such a calming spirit. It was inevitable that he would thrive in the sports science world, his physique, wit and energy were built for it. Victor, rest with the angels until we meet again.

  10. Yo Vic, the void you’ve left in your Family and the immediate Laikipia road crew is Huge! I’m sure they’ll continue honoring you for years to come as we all will… Rest easy Youngin’. Tutapatana Baadae!

  11. I’m finding this difficult to process, because my engagement with Victor was during high school and we did not interact much thereafter but I had heard he was in fitness. Even so, I have mentioned him so many times, even recently, in various circles, when talking about high school life and this one person who was the top of our class. He continued to be present through the stories. When I moved back to Nairobi and joined Consolata, I observed him often because he was very determined, very passionate about his work and he always aimed to be the best in his academic performance. And he did achieve it, with myself coming not far behind him and always relying on him to break down whatever I didn’t understand in math. But physics – I could never keep up 😀. That one we left to him. In hindsight, I see that he was a person full of zeal for whatever he did, so that his expectations of himself were always so high – no matter what it was – it needed to be the best. His passing made me wonder – what were his dreams? He always had a thoughtful look and only said as much as was needed, never more, and therefore, a lot of his colourful dreams were the secrets of his soul. He was a person of a deeply consistent character – always kind, always considerate, always careful about his temperaments, always protective, always ready to assist, always pleased when good academic performance was announced – those were few occasions when he’d lighten up and we’d see the true glimmer of joy and pride on his face and smile. It is still so vivid to me and I will always think of him fondly. The stories will continue to live on! RIP comrade Victor.
