It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance that we announce the death of Joe Malit after succumbing to serious injuries due to a tragic road accident on 31st March 2026.

He was a son of Martin Malit Opudo and Josephine Nyangon Malit and brother of Dr. Arnold Malit, Keldine Owande Malit, Shavian Malit and David Malit.

Grandson of the late Mzee Benjamin Opudo, Mama Norah Opudo, the late Mzee John Nyangon and the late Mama Anastasia Nyangon.

Nephew of Pamela Seda, Dennis Opudo (National Museums of Kenya), Susan Opudo, Jim Opudo, Rose Ocharo, Simon Nyangon, Pascal Nyangon, Angela Nyangon, Dr. Joseph Nyangon, Scholastica Nyangon, John Paul Omondi, Fredrick Nyongo, Peter Nyangon, Maurine Aluoch, Emily Adhiambo, Kevin Onyango, Rehema Atieno among others who have gone of be with the Lord.

Uncle of Jeremy Hawi, Dimitar Krachev-Malit, Mich Ogira and Lenana Kracheva-Malit. He was a cousin to many.

Fundraising and condoling with the family will be at All Saints Cathedral – Nairobi on Tuesday 7th April 2026 at 4.00pm.

A Memorial mass will be held on Wednesday 8 th April, 2026 at 2.00pm at their home in Kobala.

The cortege leaves Gendia Seventh Day Adventist Hospital Funeral Home for Kobala on Thursday 9th of April 2026, for a night Vigil.

He will be laid to rest on Friday 10th April 2026 at the family home in Kobala Centre, Homabay County.
