Obituary For Hillary Iwalat Oluku
It is with heavy heart and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of our loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, brother-in-law, great friend & colleague Mr. Hillary Oluku Iwalat on Thursday 1st May 2025 after a long illness borne bravely and with quiet dignity.
Beloved husband to Esther Akoit Iwalat, father to Paula Amuruon Iwalat and Teresa Akello Iwalat. Grandfather to John Okoit Iwalat and Christine Akoit Iwalat. Cherished neighbour and active member of the congregation/parish of St.Mary’s Catholic Church in Ongata Rongai.
Family and friends meet from 5pm to 7pm at the family home along Ole Motondo Road (MC 43),Ongata Rongai. There will be a memorial Mass on Monday 12th May 2025 at St.Mary’s Catholic Church, Ongata Rongai at 11.00am.
There requiem Mass will be at his ancestral home at St.Anthony Chakol Catholic Mission located in Busia County, Teso South, Okalel-Amaase Village.
The late Hillary Oluku Iwalat will be laid to rest on Wednesday 14th May 2025. Here’s a heartfelt parting shot message to honor the life your dad lived:
“Dad, your life was a testament of strength, kindness, and quiet wisdom. You loved deeply, gave generously, and lived with unwavering integrity. Though you’re gone, your legacy lives on in every life you touched. Rest well for you truly lived a life worth celebrating, the pain passes but the beauty remains.

I remember Hillary very well. We referred to him as baba Paula, he was a very supportive parent then in St. Marys pri. Sch. Ongata Rongai. May God grant him eternal rest. Pole to his entire family.
